The first line is the heavy one, so a strong main word goes there, with a trade word or a place on the smaller line below it. The nine-letter BLACKSEAL fills the line well, while a much shorter word leaves the swoosh looking wider than the name. A tagline or color request can go in the notes field. Charcoal is nearly black, so the design reads strongly on white, silver, light gray, yellow and tan doors, and the red bars add the only color. On a black, dark gray or navy door the swoosh and lettering blend into the paint and only the red remains; on a red door the bars disappear. Much of the design is dark and heavy, which looks solid and plain. The swoosh suits sealcoating and driveway maintenance work.
