USDOT Decal Sticker
Just the number: your USDOT number in clear lettering. Same 3M/ORACAL vinyl, same 3-year warranty.
Truck door decals made to order: lettering from $18.99, ready-made logo doors at $120 and full-art sets at $189. See which fits and how to order both doors.
Truck door decals at Work Decals come in three kinds. Lettering decals carry your name and numbers on a plain colored rectangle, logo designs put a ready-made brand mark on the door, and full-art sets are illustrated pairs. Pick lettering for readability and price, a logo for a brand mark, a set for a finished look. Every kind goes on as one decal per door.
A lettering decal is a solid rectangle in a sticker color, with your lines of text printed on it. Choose a width of 12, 18 or 24 inches (these are decal widths, not legal sizes), a sticker background of White, Black, Yellow, Silver, Red or Blue, and lettering in Black, White, Red or Blue.
Here is how the main products stack up:
On a product page the price stays the same at every width and color. In the door builder, a wider decal costs more, and a live preview shows your lines on a truck door. The size guide helps you pick a width.
These are over 100 ready-made looks at $120 per door. We fit your company name to the artwork and email a proof, and nothing prints until you approve it. An optional contour cut, $10 more per door, trims the decal to the shape of the logo instead of a rectangle. Browse truck logo design or the logo shop, such as Summit Block Mountain.
The sample artwork shows no USDOT number, so a covered truck still needs its number on the door through a separate decal.
More than 30 designs, each a pair of matching decals about 18 inches wide, $189 per set. You enter your name, USDOT number and an optional MC number, and we send a proof. See illustrated door decal sets, or open the door sets shop to start with Redstone Carriers.
Every lettering product page has a Pack choice. Single decal is the price shown. Set of 2 is two identical decals at exactly double, so $37.98 for the USDOT Decal Sticker. A Set of 2 is not a different product, just a quicker way to order both doors with the same text.
If the two doors need different text, order two singles. Logo designs are per door, so order one for each side. A full-art set is already a pair.
The federal marking rule, 49 CFR 390.21, asks a covered vehicle to show the carrier's legal name or a single trade name, as listed on its FMCSA registration, and its USDOT number preceded by the letters "USDOT". It goes on both sides, in letters that contrast sharply and can be read from 50 feet in daylight while the vehicle is stopped. The rule sets no letter height in inches.
MC is not part of it: FMCSA says no marking requirement exists for it, though many carriers add one. Rules change and states differ, so confirm with FMCSA and your state. See USDOT number display rules. You are responsible for compliance, and we print what you type.
Install is DIY, with a printed sheet and a video link in every order. See the install guide.
Add the product, then choose Set of 2 on a lettering page, which gives two identical decals at double the single price. For a logo design, order one per door. A full-art set already includes both. Check the text in the preview, because we print exactly what you enter.
Lettering decals offer sticker backgrounds in White, Black, Yellow, Silver, Red and Blue, with lettering in Black, White, Red or Blue. Pick a pair with a big gap in lightness so the text stands out. Logo designs and full-art sets come in the colors of their artwork, shown on each product page.
Lettering, by a wide margin. A USDOT Decal Sticker pair is $37.98, two logo doors are $240 and one full-art set is $189. A logo or a set adds a brand look, while plain lettering keeps your name and number easiest to read.
Yes, for lettering. The door builder shows your lines on a truck door as you type. The preview is a generic door, so confirm the size with masking tape on your own truck. Logo designs and sets get an emailed proof before printing.
Not every truck needs one. The federal marking rule covers commercial motor vehicles, and whether yours is one depends on weight and use (49 CFR 390.5T). A truck outside it, in a state with no marking rule of its own, can carry whatever lettering you like. Start with who needs a USDOT number.
Just the number: your USDOT number in clear lettering. Same 3M/ORACAL vinyl, same 3-year warranty.
The classic interstate stack: USDOT over MC. Centered, spaced, 2" letters. Add GVW or CA# in the builder.
