Heritage Freight Vintage Oval Badge Door Decal Set

An oval badge sits at the top: a navy rim sprinkled with white stars, red and white flag-style stripes inside it, and a red long-nose tractor with a cream stripe and chrome stacks driving across the front. Navy stars flank the oval. The sample name, HERITAGE FREIGHT CO., runs on one line in navy serif capitals with a red drop shadow, and Hauling Since Day One follows in red script between triple red lines. A navy rule leads to the USDOT and MC lines in heavy navy sans, a red star at each end of the MC line. The frame is double, navy outside and red inside.

The name sits on one wide line, and the sample uses three words with an abbreviation, Co., at the end. Tidy names of two or three words, with or without Co., Inc. or Bros., suit it. The serif capitals are tall and fairly narrow, which gives longer names more room than a wide face would, while a short single word comes out very large. The slogan is a thin script and the smallest text on the panel. Numbers are centered below a navy rule, USDOT over MC, six digits each in the sample, in heavy sans.

The white panel with a navy and red double frame reads best against dark doors in navy, black, deep red or green, where the white and the stripes stand out, and on white cabs it works as a framed label. A red cab matches the red tractor in the drawing. The look is old-fashioned and sentimental, a fit for family-run outfits and carriers that like a classic feel. At a distance the oval, the serif name and the numbers register; the script slogan and the little stars are fine detail that disappears.
