The sample reads DEAN & BURTON TRUCKING, a made-up name that your own replaces. The first line is tall, narrow purple block capitals with squared, notched corners. Under it, a thin purple rule runs out to each side of the word TRUCKING, which is set in widely spaced hot pink and bracketed by small pink diamonds. The last line, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, uses smaller purple condensed capitals with three slanted pink speed stripes on each side, like short wings.

The wide top line does most of the work, and it is drawn for a name that joins two surnames with an ampersand. A single shorter word makes a shorter line, and the thin rules and diamonds then do more of the spreading. The pink middle word is the trade line and the bottom line holds a place, so both stay small and wide. The layout is wide and short, a natural match for a standard rectangular door area.

Purple is a hard color on many truck doors. It reads clearly on white, silver and light gray, and the pink adds a second bright note. On black, navy or dark green paint the purple fades and only the pink survives. Red and orange doors clash with the pink.
