Everything runs along a single line. Three orange chevrons point to the right, and next to them the name sits in tall, narrow navy capitals, nearly all the same height. The sample name, Ironwood Freight, is made up, and your company name takes its place. There is no box, outline or tagline. The artwork uses just two colors, a bright orange and a navy so dark it is close to black.

Condensed letters are the reason this layout copes with long names better than most. A name of two or three words can stay on one line without the lettering shrinking much, because each character takes so little width. The chevrons stay at the left end and the strip simply stretches. It is a wide, low shape, more than six times as wide as tall, so it suits a name that reads left to right and has no second line. Navy and orange are both dark enough to show on white, silver, light gray and yellow paint, and the pairing keeps its punch even from across a lot. Navy disappears on a black, dark blue or dark green door, and the orange gets muddy on a red or rust door. The calm block lettering looks like a regional freight company, a flatbed outfit or a contractor that wants a no-nonsense mark. The low strip leaves the rest of the door free for other lettering, such as your numbers.
