A one-word name works best on the big line, and the second line carries a two-word trade phrase, as LANDSCAPE LIGHTING does in the sample. The second line is nearly as wide as the first, so its letters shrink if you write something much longer. Because the lamp is small, a short name makes it look even smaller, while a longer name gives it a wide base to sit over. Put a tagline or color request in the notes field. Dark green and gold are both quiet colors. They read best on white, cream, light gray and silver doors. On a black, dark green or navy door the green letters nearly vanish and the lamp's black stem disappears, leaving only the gold glow. The letter strokes are fairly thin and the lamp is small, so this design is at its best at close range, like a driveway or a curb, rather than at highway distance. It suits landscape and outdoor lighting installers.
