Pa.P.U.C. No. A- followed by your number, such as Pa.P.U.C. No. A-123456. Type it, preview it, order. $18.99 per decal.
A one-line decal that prints Pa.P.U.C. No. A- and your number, set up in the builder as Pa.P.U.C. No. A-123456. As we read 52 Pa. Code 29.71, Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission carriers show the name and this number on each side of the vehicle. Type your own number, check the live preview on a truck door, and pick a width and colors. It costs $18.99 per decal in 3M or Oracal vinyl, or $37.98 for a Set of 2.
As we read the rule, it appears to cover carriers the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission regulates, with the name and number in letters at least 2 inches high and one half inch wide on each side. Pennsylvania also asks for a USDOT number for intrastate commercial vehicles of 17,001 lb and over under 67 Pa. Code 231.8, which is a separate requirement. Confirm with the Pennsylvania PUC and PennDOT which markings your truck needs before you order. Source: 52 Pa. Code 29.71.
This decal prints one line and no company name. The rule asks for the name as well as the number, so a covered truck may also need the name lettered. You can cover that with the Company Name Decal at $18.99 for the name alone, or the Company Name + USDOT Decal at $27.99 for the name and number on one rectangle. The federal marking rule, 49 CFR 390.21, also asks for the name with the USDOT number. Confirm with the agency what your truck needs.
Shipping is $7.99 per order, free over $99, with tracking by email one or two days after you order. Install is DIY with a printed sheet and video link in the box. A 3-year guarantee covers a free replacement if it peels or comes off. Details: shipping, install, refunds and returns.
As we read 52 Pa. Code 29.71, carriers regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission show the name and a number in the form Pa.P.U.C. No. A- followed by their number. Whether your operation is one of them is for the PUC to decide. Ask it in writing, and have your certificate or docket details ready when you do. Our Pennsylvania DOT number guide covers the USDOT side.
The rule we read asks for letters at least 2 inches high and one half inch wide, on each side of the vehicle. The decal prints the one line you type, at the width you pick, so check the size against your door in the live preview before you pay $18.99. Confirm the required size with the Pennsylvania PUC, since this is our reading of the rule.
The Pennsylvania PUC wording is a state marking, so a truck that works across state lines should ask the PUC, PennDOT and FMCSA which markings apply before any letters go on the door. The federal rule, 49 CFR 390.21, sets the general USDOT marking. Our state requirements guide is a starting point for other states.
