Fire Extinguisher Inside Decal

A fire extinguisher sticker that tells people where the extinguisher is kept. The builder sample reads FIRE EXTINGUISHER on the first line and INSIDE below it, and you can change either line to match the spot, such as BEHIND SEAT or IN CABINET. We print exactly what you type. It suits trucks, vans, trailers, equipment cabs and shop doors where a driver or crew member needs to find the unit fast. Each decal is $22.99 in 3M or Oracal vinyl, and the Set of 2 option is $45.98 for two matching decals.

Place the decal on the surface nearest the extinguisher's mounting spot, so the sign and the unit are seen together. On a truck, that may be the cab wall or door frame beside the driver. On an equipment cab or trailer, pick the panel next to the mounting bracket. Measure that flat panel before you choose a width: 12 inches suits a narrow strip, and 18 or 24 inches fit a wider clear area. Every width costs the same. For colors, white lettering on a black background or black lettering on a white background gives the clearest read, and the builder preview shows the layout before you order.

The federal rule, 49 CFR 393.95, asks each covered power unit to carry a fire extinguisher rated 5 B:C or more, or two rated 4 B:C or more, and 10 B:C or more for trucks that haul certain hazardous materials. The extinguisher must be readily accessible for use and securely mounted. The rule asks for the extinguisher, not for a sign or decal, so this label is one you choose to add. The decal shows where the equipment is. It does not replace the extinguisher, its mounting, inspections or training. Check FMCSA or your state agency for the current wording.

The contour cut is $5 more per decal and makes one piece that follows the lettering, about 1/4 inch around each letter, so no rectangle shows behind the words. Reflective film, which shows up in headlights after dark, adds $5 at 12 inches, $9 at 18 or $15 at 24 on a two-line decal.
