Mobile detailing van decals for vans, trailers and trucks: sample door layouts, how to choose a sparkle logo, color contrast tips and the contour cut option.
Mobile detailing van decals are read up close. A detailer works in a customer's driveway or an office lot for hours, so people walk right up to the van, and they will notice whether the lettering is crisp and straight. Put the business name, "mobile detailing" and a phone number on both sides. A tidy van with clean lettering is part of the pitch before you speak.
There are two audiences. One is the person standing next to the van while you work. They have time, and they can read small lines such as a website, a service area or "interior and exterior."
The other is the driver who passes you at 40 miles an hour. That person gets a name and a phone number, if they get anything. Design for the second reader, then use leftover space for the first. A name that is large and a phone number that is clear beat a long service list.
If you wonder what to call yourself: "mobile detailing" means the work comes to the customer, so say that on the van in those words or "we come to you."
Made-up text, so use your own.
Sliding door or side panel, short:
Rear door, fuller:
The first is the Business Name + Phone decal, with the middle line optional. For the second, use the Make-Your-Own 5-Line, which lets you type any five lines. Only list services you offer, and only call something a guarantee if you honor it.
Some detailers also tow a small enclosed trailer or drive a pickup. The lettering is the same kind of decal. Use truck lettering cost to estimate a van, a trailer and a pickup together.
The Sparkle Star Detailing Logo places a silver four-point sparkle above two lines of heavy black capitals: the company name large, "Detailing" below it. It is a centered, stacked layout, so it suits a rear door, a sliding door or a pickup door better than a long, narrow panel.
The pairing that matters is black and silver. Black capitals give you strong contrast on a white, silver or light-colored van, and the silver sparkle is a quiet accent. On a dark van the black lettering is the problem, and the silver sparkle can be too faint to catch the eye. Check the proof carefully against your real paint color. Your name is fitted to the design and you approve it before printing. It is $120 per door.
If your name has a short first word, such as "Glasshouse," the heavy letters fill the width well. A long name shrinks them.
For logo designs the optional contour cut (+$10 per door) cuts the decal to the shape of the logo instead of a rectangle. A detailer's own van is a showpiece, so the cleaner look is tempting. Without the box, though, the logo colors sit directly on your paint, so for this design the contour cut suits a light vehicle. On a dark van, the rectangle keeps the black lettering on its own panel.
Detailers know how paint looks when it is prepped. Treat the van the same way before you install: start with clean, dry paint. The package comes with a printed instruction sheet and a link to the install video, which is also on the install page. Follow it when you apply the decals.
When you sell the van or change the name, how to remove truck decals covers taking them off safely. If you sometimes work from a personal car and want something removable, our guide on magnetic truck door signs explains how magnets differ from decals. For other service vehicles, look at pressure washing truck decals and window cleaning van decals.
Business name, "mobile detailing" and a phone number, with a short third line if it is true, such as "We come to you." Put a website on a rear panel where people have time to read it. Leave off prices and promises that can change.
Lettering in a light color on a dark sticker is the safer pick for a dark van. The sparkle logo is mostly black, so on dark paint it needs the rectangle background. Look at the proof against your paint color before you approve it.
For most vans, yes. It carries the name, one optional line and a phone number for $24.99 per decal, and you see the layout in the door builder first. Add a logo if you want a mark for invoices and your website.
Yes. A wrap covers large areas of the vehicle. We make lettering and logo decals for doors and panels, not wraps. If you want a name and number on both sides, decals do that. If you want the whole van printed, that is a different product.
