Stump and Chips Grinding Logo
A brown stump with orange flying chips above heavy brown capitals. Your name fitted and proofed first. $120 per door.
Stump grinding truck decals for a pickup and grinder trailer: where each decal goes, a brown stump-and-chips logo, sample door text and mud-proof colors.
Stump grinding truck decals have two jobs: put your name on the pickup that people see in the driveway, and put your phone number on the trailer or grinder that follows it. A typical outfit is a pickup pulling a trailer-mounted grinder, so there are two surfaces to plan. The doors carry the full name, and a smaller decal on a flat trailer panel repeats the number. A logo with a stump on it tells the trade at a glance.
Pickup doors. These are the main spot. The truck is often parked across the edge of a lawn or on the street, and the doors face the road. Put matching text on both sides.
The trailer. If the trailer has a smooth, flat panel, a name-and-phone decal repeats the number for anyone who walks around the rig. Ribs, rivets and equipment brackets make a flat decal harder to place, so measure first. The door size guide shows how to measure a panel.
The grinder itself. Machines can have curves and vents, which make a poor surface for flat vinyl.
If you rotate vehicles or tow the grinder with a borrowed truck, our magnetic signs guide explains when a magnet suits the job. We sell decals, not magnets.
The Stump and Chips Grinding Logo shows a cut tree stump in brown with a spray of orange chips flying up from it. Under the picture, the name runs in heavy, rounded brown capitals on three lines, with the trade words "Stump Grinding" given most of the space. The shapes are chunky, which keeps the mark readable on a muddy door.
The design is $120 per door. Your name is fitted into it, and a proof arrives for you to approve before printing. The sample has a short brand word on its first line, so a long name may take up more room and shrink the rest. Read the proof with your own name in it. The logo covers your name; for the phone number, add a second decal.
Brown on white, silver or light gray is solid. Orange chips add contrast on a light truck. On a tan, brown, green or orange truck, the stump and the lettering blend into the paint. Mud and sawdust turn doors the same colors as the logo, so a dirty truck makes a brown mark hard to read. Wash the doors before a job and give the lettering a clean background.
For plain lettering decals, high-contrast pairs such as black on yellow or white on black stay readable through grime. The install guide also covers washing the door before you apply anything.

Ask your state licensing board whether it wants a license number shown on a vehicle, and add one only if it does. Print an offer such as free quotes only if you truly give one.
A pickup that tows a heavy trailer can raise the question of a USDOT number. It depends on weight and use, not on the trade. Who needs a USDOT number lays out the questions, and the answer for a pickup may differ from the answer for a larger truck.
A Business Name + Phone Number decal is $30.99 per decal and fits the trailer or a second vehicle. The Make-Your-Own 5-Line decal is $51, and the door builder lets you preview wording and colors on a truck door.
The contour cut adds $10 per door on logo designs and cuts the decal to the shape of the logo instead of a rectangle. For this design, that outline follows the stump and the flying chips as well as the letters. Skip it on a brown or dark truck, where the brown would sit on paint of nearly the same color.
If you also trim and remove trees, see tree service truck decals, and for crews who mow and edge as well, lawn care truck decals.
Your company name, "stump grinding" or "stump removal," and a phone number with area code. A city or county name helps people know you cover their area. Keep the lines short so the letters stay large, because a truck parked at a curb is read from the road.
Both is the usual answer. The pickup doors carry the main decal, with the logo or full name, and a trailer panel can repeat the number. If the trailer has no smooth panel, the pickup alone still does the main job.
Chips and mud sit on the surface and lower contrast, so rinse them off the way you would the paint. The vinyl has a 3-year guarantee: one that peels or comes off is replaced free. Avoid scraping dried mud with a tool, which could catch an edge.
It can, but the brown would be hard to see if the logo sits directly on dark paint. Keep the plain rectangle, not the contour cut, on a dark truck. A lettering decal with its own light background is another route when the paint is dark.

The federal marking rule allows removable signs such as magnets. Here is what they must do, where magnets fail, and when an adhesive decal is the simpler choice.
