Carrier name on line one, NM and your operating authority number on line two. Type both, check the preview, order. $22.99.
A two-line decal for a carrier that holds New Mexico operating authority from the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT): your carrier name or d/b/a on line one, and NM with your number on line two, such as NM 1234. The builder sample pairs black lettering with a yellow sticker over a white door. Expect $22.99 for a single decal, or $45.98 for the pair that covers both sides of the power unit.
The NM number rule applies to carriers that provide compensated transportation services under NMDOT operating authority. NMDOT's transportation division page lists limousines, taxis, shuttle services, tour and sightseeing operators, household goods movers, non-emergency medical transport carriers, transportation network companies and towing services. It is not a general rule for every truck. If your business is not on that list, this decal may not apply to you, so check with NMDOT first. Where the rule does apply, 18.3.4.13 NMAC asks for the name or d/b/a and the NM number on the right and left doors, or sides, of the power unit.
Before you choose a width, check the character height with NMDOT. Our 12, 18 and 24 inch options are decal widths, not character heights, and we do not say this decal satisfies the New Mexico rule. The rule text is linked above, so read the lettering section there and ask NMDOT how it applies to your vehicle. Printing the name and the number on a decal is not the same thing as confirming the rule for your truck.
On line one, type the carrier name or d/b/a exactly as it appears on your NMDOT operating authority. On line two, type NM, one space and your number, such as NM 1234. Line one takes up to 32 characters and line two takes up to 24. The rule's exceptions cover interstate carriers that display a federal operating authority number, and intrastate carriers that display a New Mexico safety identification number issued by the motor vehicle division. Choose a width of 12, 18 or 24 inches. For $5 more per decal, the Contour cut trims each line to its own lettering as a separate piece. The guarantee runs three years, and tracking reaches you by email within 1 to 2 days.
Shipping is $7.99 per order, free over $99, with tracking by email one or two days after you order. Install is DIY with a printed sheet and video link in the box. A 3-year guarantee covers a free replacement if it peels or comes off. Details: shipping, install, refunds and returns.
Two lines. Line one is the carrier name or d/b/a as it appears on your NMDOT operating authority. Line two is NM and your operating authority number, such as NM 1234. The live preview shows both lines before you pay $22.99, so check spelling and spacing there. A Set of 2 for both sides of the power unit costs $45.98, and you can choose a 12, 18 or 24 inch width.
The rule covers carriers that provide compensated transportation under NMDOT operating authority, such as shuttle services, towing services and household goods movers. The NMDOT transportation pages explain the full list. It is not a general rule for every truck, and a business that hauls only its own cargo may fall outside it. Our who needs a USDOT number guide covers the separate federal question. Check your operating authority paperwork and ask NMDOT before you order, because the answer depends on how your business runs.
According to NMDOT, yes. The transportation division moved from the Public Regulation Commission to the New Mexico Department of Transportation on July 1, 2024, and an existing NMPRC number stays the same, so you do not need to apply again. Type the number on your current paperwork, and read NMDOT's FAQ if the paperwork and the agency disagree. A correct number matters more on the decal than the name of the agency that issued it.
The character height is set in the rule linked above, and it is the figure to confirm with NMDOT. We do not restate it here, and we cannot measure a rule for you. Our 12, 18 and 24 inch figures describe the width of the decal. A wider decal does not by itself guarantee that the characters reach the height in the rule, so check that with NMDOT before you choose a width, then use the live preview to judge the spacing.
The rule places the name and NM number on the right and left doors, or sides, of the power unit, so one decal goes on each side. For a vehicle leased or rented for authorized operations, the rule says the display does not need to be permanently affixed. Our tow truck door decals and moving truck decals pages show layouts for two of the services on NMDOT's list.
