STAY BACK over 200 FEET, or two lines you type, for a dump body or hauler. Preview it on a door, then order. $22.99 per decal.
A two-line warning for the back of a truck or trailer: STAY BACK on the top line and 200 FEET below it. The sample in the builder is set up that way, but the distance is text you choose, and we print it exactly as typed. It suits a dump truck that carries loose material, a hauler with a long load behind the cab, or a tow rig with a trailer on the hitch. The decal is $22.99 and uses 3M or Oracal vinyl. A Set of 2 at $45.98 covers both sides of the rear.
Be clear about what the wording is. STAY BACK and the distance are words the customer types, and we print them as typed. We do not set the distance, we do not check it, and we do not say that any rule calls for a particular figure. A decal can tell a following driver what you want, but it cannot make that driver act on it, and we make no claim that it prevents accidents or changes anyone's liability. Use it as a plain note on the back of the truck, next to the habits that matter more: securing the load, leaving room to stop and keeping the lights clean and working. If your truck must carry the federal marking, the rule asks for a name and a USDOT number, and this decal does not carry a USDOT number, so start with the USDOT number display rules summary.
The rear panel of a dump body is where most of the planning happens. Find a flat, clean area that stays clear of the tail lights, the license plate and the reflectors, and measure it with a tape before you pick a width. The builder offers 12, 18 and 24 inches, and every width costs the same, so the decision is about space, not price. The sample colors on the page are a starting point, and the sticker background and lettering color are yours to pick. Set of 2 is the pick when the same message belongs on both sides of the rear, and both decals in the pair carry identical wording.
With the contour cut at +$5 per decal, STAY BACK and the distance are each cut close to their own letters, so they come off as two pieces. Your tracking number is emailed one to two days after the order, and the three-year guarantee replaces a decal that comes off or peels, at no cost. For layouts from other haulers, the dump truck decals page is a good place to look. Before you order, read the guide on whether dump and tow trucks need a DOT number, because the answer can change what else goes on the truck. Installing it yourself works from the printed sheet, and the install page has the video.
Shipping is $7.99 per order, free over $99, with tracking by email one or two days after you order. Install is DIY with a printed sheet and video link in the box. A 3-year guarantee covers a free replacement if it peels or comes off. Details: shipping, install, refunds and returns.
Two lines that you type. The builder sample is STAY BACK on the top line and 200 FEET below, and you can change either line to a different phrase or a different distance. Whatever you enter is what prints, so look at the figure and the spacing in the preview, since that is what prints. Width and colors are priced flat, and the Set of 2 at $45.98 covers both sides of the rear.
No. The 200 feet is wording in our sample, and we do not state that any rule sets that figure or that it is the distance a driver should keep. If you want to know what the rules say about following distance or marking your vehicle, ask FMCSA or your state agency, since the answer may have changed. Print only a figure you chose on purpose, because it stays on the vinyl and readers take it at face value.
We make no claim that it will. A decal is a note on the back of the truck, and a following driver may not read it, may ignore it or may already be too close to act on it. The decal does not change how the truck brakes, how the load sits or how fast traffic moves. It gives people a plain message, and each driver still decides how far back to be.
A good first choice is the rear panel of the dump body, centered if the panel is wide enough. Keep the decal off the tail lights, the plate, the reflectors, any hinge and any latch, and make sure the surface is clean and flat before you apply it. Measure the panel with a tape, choose 12, 18 or 24 inches, and compare the layout in the preview. Pick the widest size that still clears the lights and the plate.
You can put it on a trailer's rear panel if that panel is clean and flat, but check the spot against the trailer's own lights and plate first. Whether a trailer needs any marking is a question for FMCSA or your state, and the trailer DOT requirements guide lays out what to check. Do not assume that a trailer and a truck follow the same rules without checking.
