Company Name + USDOT Decal (Two-Line)
Company name over USDOT number on one door decal. $27.99 each. Order two for both doors.
Live previewType your lines on the rightbelow and watch the door update.
Just the number: your USDOT number in clear lettering. Same 3M/ORACAL vinyl, same 3-year warranty.
Only the number, nothing extra. This decal carries your USDOT number in clean, legible lettering for trucks that already show the company name somewhere else or that just need the number added.
It is the lowest-priced way to put your USDOT number on a door. Choose 12, 18 or 24 inch width, a sticker background color and a lettering color.
Same 3M / Oracal vinyl as every other decal in the shop, same DIY install, same 3-year guarantee.
This decal carries the number only, so read the rule first. 49 CFR 390.21 asks for the carrier's name and USDOT number on both sides of a vehicle it covers. If your name is already on the door, this decal adds the number. If it is not, the name has to appear on the vehicle too, and the Custom USDOT Logo puts both on one decal. Not sure the rule covers you? See who needs a USDOT number.
If a name is already on the door, match it. Choose a sticker background and lettering color that echo the existing lettering, and set the decal directly beside or under the name so the two read as one block. The rule does not fix an exact position on the side, so what counts is that both are clear. Our placement guide walks through the check.
Lettering several trucks? Each truck needs a decal for each side, so four trucks means eight decals. At $18.99 each that is $151.92, which passes the $99 free-shipping line, while a smaller order pays $7.99 flat. Counting the sides first saves you a second order and a second shipping charge.
Shipping is $7.99 per order, free over $99, with tracking by email one or two days after you order. Install is DIY with a printed sheet and video link in the box. A 3-year guarantee covers a free replacement if it peels or comes off. Details: shipping, install, refunds and returns.
Type both, with the letters first: USDOT 1234567 is the pattern. The marking rule asks for the identification number preceded by the letters USDOT, so digits alone are not the full marking. Put a space between the letters and the number, enter every digit exactly as FMCSA issued it, and check the preview before you add the decal to your cart.
Look it up on FMCSA's SAFER Company Snapshot, which is free and searches by USDOT number, MC number or company name. FMCSA's new registration system, Motus, also has a public search by USDOT number, legal name or DBA. Our USDOT number lookup guide shows the steps. Match the digits on screen before you order.
The marking rule says the lettering must be kept and maintained so it stays readable in daylight from 50 feet while the vehicle is stationary. If your number no longer passes that test, replacing it is the straightforward fix. Stand 50 feet from the stopped truck in daylight and look. If you squint, order a new decal for that side.
Take the old lettering off. FMCSA says a USDOT number belongs to the same legal person and may not be sold, transferred, rented or leased, so the number on your truck should be your own, next to your own name as the marking rule asks. Peel or cover the old lettering, then add your decal. Our removal guide covers old vinyl and leftover glue.
That depends on whether your pickup counts as a commercial motor vehicle. Under the federal definition, a vehicle used in interstate commerce qualifies at a gross vehicle or combination weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more, among other tests. Our pickup truck guide goes through it. If the rule applies to you, remember that the name has to be on the vehicle as well.
