Business Name + Phone Number Decal
Business name, optional tagline and phone number on one door decal for trucks and vans. $30.99 each.
Service truck decals should match from truck to truck. Build one layout card, copy it to every service body or utility truck, and add USDOT lines if needed.
Service truck decals should work as a set. Every truck in the crew gets the same lines in the same spot, so a customer who sees two of your trucks sees one business. A standard set has the business name, a phone number and, where the truck is covered, the USDOT number. Build it once on a layout card.
A layout card is a half page you keep with the truck records. It lists:
When a truck is replaced or a door is repainted, the card lets you order a matching decal instead of working from memory. Decals print exactly as typed, so copy the lines from the card each time.
Utility fleets mix service bodies, bucket trucks and pickups with utility beds. The cab door is the surface they share, so make it the constant: the same decal, in the same spot, on every truck. Our decals are solid rectangles in the sticker color you pick, so a white truck and a dark truck can wear the same set without the paint changing the look.
A body with compartment doors has latches, hinges and seams, and a decal that crosses a seam may not lie flat. Keep the decal on a single panel, and tape out the spot first. The truck door decal size guide shows the paper-mock-up test.
For the door itself, the Business Name + Phone Number decal is $30.99, and the Business Name + Website Decal is $27.99. Prefer a brand mark? The Hard Hat Block Logo is an orange hard hat above heavy black condensed capitals and an orange bar. Logo designs are $120 per door, your company name is fitted to the design, and you see a proof before printing.
When several trucks arrive at one job site, a short number lets a supervisor name one over the radio. Choose a format once, such as TRUCK 14, and put it in the same place on every truck. The Truck Unit Number Decal is one line at $18.99. Keep crew rosters on paper, not on the decal, since crews get reshuffled and trucks do not. The unit number guide covers formats in more depth.
Not every service truck is covered. Under the federal definition, a vehicle used in interstate commerce is covered when its gross vehicle or combination weight rating is 10,001 pounds or more, among other tests (49 CFR 390.5T). The rating is the manufacturer's figure for your own chassis. Many service trucks stay inside one state, and FMCSA says some states require a USDOT number for intrastate carriers, so check with your state agency.
If a truck is covered, the marking rule asks for the carrier's legal name or a single trade name and the USDOT number on both sides (49 CFR 390.21). A sample two-decal door, with made-up details:
The second is the Company Name + USDOT decal, $27.99, and the Custom USDOT Logo at $32 adds city and MC lines. The name must match the one on your registration, as the company name guide explains, and who needs a USDOT number covers the weight test.
If your fleet also has box trucks, see box truck decals and fleet vehicle decals. The door builder shows your lines on a door before you pay.
Service body panels can have textured coatings or heavy creases. Skip them, pick a smooth painted stretch and follow how to install truck door decals. Choose one lettering and sticker pair with a wide gap in lightness for every truck, such as black on white or white on black.
A business name and phone number cover most trucks, with a website if it is short. Add a USDOT line only where the truck is covered by federal or state rules. A unit number is optional and is your own identification. Keep lines short so the letters stay large, and check them in the preview.
Cut a cardboard template at the decal's width and height. On each door, measure up from the lower edge and back from the window line, mark the corners with masking tape, and tape the template there to check it before the decal goes on. Use the same two measurements on every truck and write them on your layout card.
Only if the truck meets the federal definition or a state rule. The federal test looks at weight rating, passenger count and use (49 CFR 390.5T), and states add their own. Check the rating on your chassis, then confirm with FMCSA or your state agency before you order.
Twelve, two per truck for both doors. At $30.99 each, twelve Business Name + Phone Number decals come to $371.88, and shipping is free because the order is over $99. Add unit numbers as separate decals, one per door, and use the same quantity for any USDOT decals on covered trucks.
