Truck Stickers for Business: What We Make and Where to Put Them

Truck stickers for business, explained: our made-to-order outdoor vinyl rectangles, where they go on a truck, what to print on each one and how many to order.

Truck stickers for business and truck decals are the same thing at Work Decals: a made-to-order rectangle of permanent outdoor vinyl with your lines printed on it, applied to a truck door, tailgate or trailer. We do not sell novelty trucker stickers or slogan packs. Order one for each spot you want covered, and choose the text by who will be reading it from where.

Sticker or decal: which word do we use?

Both, and on this site they mean one product: adhesive vinyl on a backing sheet that you apply once and leave on. It is not a magnet and it is not meant to be peeled off and moved. If you need lettering you can take off at night, read magnetic truck door signs first.

What we make and what we do not

What a business sticker is here:

  • 3M and Oracal vinyl, made to order, one rectangle per decal
  • 12, 18 or 24 inches wide
  • A background of White, Black, Yellow, Silver, Red or Blue, with Black, White, Red or Blue lettering
  • A 3-year guarantee: if it peels or comes off, we replace it free

What it is not:

  • A novelty, joke or slogan sticker, or a sticker with someone else's brand
  • A small sticker: our narrowest is 12 inches
  • A reflective, metallic, die-cut or background-free sticker

Where stickers go on a truck

Doors

The flat panel below the window is the usual spot, one on each side. This is where the name, what you do and a phone number belong. The pickup door decal page goes deeper on pickups, and company name decals covers longer names.

Tailgate

Following traffic reads this one, so keep it short. The Phone Number Decal is $18.99, prints the number in large digits and has an optional line above for a name or a word like CALL. Look over the tailgate for stamped lettering, a handle recess and the latch, because the sticker needs one clear flat area.

Bumper area

Check the surface before you order. Many bumpers are textured plastic or chrome, and vinyl may not hold on textured plastic. A smooth painted panel next to the bumper is the safer choice. If you are unsure about a surface, ask through the contact form first.

Trailers

Trailer sides and rear doors have plenty of room, but the ribs and rivets do not. Pick a smooth stretch for each sticker. We do not make anything wider than 24 inches, so a sticker on a long trailer side works as a label, not a banner. See trailer decals for business and enclosed trailer decals.

What to print where

How many stickers to order

Count one for every spot. On each product page the Pack choice is Single decal or Set of 2, and a set is simply two identical decals at double the price.

Take a pickup with a Business Name + Phone decal on each door and the Phone Number decal on the tailgate. That is 2 x $30.99 plus $18.99, or $80.97. Shipping is $7.99 because the order is under $99, so the total is $88.96. A tracking number is emailed one to two days after you order, and the package has an instruction sheet and a link to the install video.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell funny or novelty trucker stickers?

No. We make business decals: text printed on a solid rectangle of outdoor vinyl, in the sizes and colors above. We do not stock joke, slogan or hobby stickers, and we do not print other brands' logos. If what you need is your business name, phone number or website on a truck, you are in the right place.

How small can a business sticker be?

Our narrowest decal is 12 inches wide, and the widest is 24 inches. We do not make bumper-sticker-sized or label-sized pieces. If your flat area is narrower than 12 inches, pick a bigger smooth spot, or look at a different panel on the vehicle before you order.

Can I put a new sticker over an old one?

Take the old one off first. The door should be clean, dry and free of wax or polish, with any leftover glue cleared before you apply a new decal. Our guide to removing truck decals shows how, and the install guide covers the rest.

Does a business sticker replace a USDOT decal?

No. A business-name sticker carries no USDOT number. If your truck is a commercial motor vehicle, the rule asks for the carrier's name and USDOT number on both sides (49 CFR 390.21). Read our USDOT number display rules and who needs a USDOT number to check yours.

How long do truck stickers for business last?

We guarantee them for three years: a decal that peels or comes off within that time is replaced free. We cannot say how long yours will last, because sun, washing and the surface all matter. Gentle washing helps, and abrasive cleaning is not covered. See how long truck decals last.
