Concrete Truck Decals for Mixers, Pumps and Pickups

Concrete truck decals for the cab door of a mixer, a pump truck or the foreman's pickup: logo choices, cement dust and contrast tips, and cleaning advice.

Concrete truck decals belong where the surface is flat and close to the cab: the driver's door of a mixer, the cab of a pump truck and the doors of the foreman's pickup. The drum itself is a different problem, because it is curved, ribbed and rinsed after every pour. Our decals come in 12, 18 and 24 inch widths, which suits a cab door and is not a drum-sized graphic.

Where concrete truck stickers go, and where they do not

A ready-mix truck has a few kinds of surface. The cab door is smooth, close to eye level and the easiest place for lettering. The drum is the large, tempting canvas, but a curved, spiral-ribbed surface does not let a flat decal lie down. Our install guide notes that ribbed or riveted trailer sides may keep a decal from lying flat, and a drum is a harder shape still. Test a small spot first, and look at the cab door before the drum.

The same logic applies to a pump truck. Its cab and any flat panel near it will take a decal. The boom and its hardware will not.

The Stacked Slab Trowel Logo is $120 per door. The name sits in stacked charcoal capitals, one word per line, above an orange trowel-shaped bar. Your name is fitted to that stack and you see a proof before anything prints.

A stacked layout is a good match for a squarer space such as a cab door, since a long single-line name would shrink to fit the width. It suits names of two or three short words, as in "Solid Ground Concrete." A longer name will make a taller stack, so check the proof for how tall it gets. For a mixer logo that must read at the curb, choose heavy letters over decoration.

Cement dust, splatter and contrast

Concrete trucks collect a gray film. A Silver sticker fades into it, while black lettering on White or white lettering on Black or Blue stays clear. The charcoal capitals in the Stacked Slab logo read well on a white cab, and the orange bar stays visible when the rest is dusty. On a dark gray cab, the charcoal letters lose contrast, so use the plain rectangle, not the contour cut.

The contour cut costs $10 more per door and shapes the vinyl to the outline of the logo, with no box around it. It is a good idea for a white or yellow cab, where only the stack and the trowel need to show. Our cut letters versus rectangular decals guide gives the longer comparison.

Washing a decal on a mixer

Mixer trucks are rinsed off all day. Our install notes ask for gentle washing, without abrasive cleaners or scrubbing, and say a strong pressure washer jet aimed straight at a decal edge can lift a corner. Hose the cab door at an angle, let dried splatter soften, and wipe it off with a soft cloth instead of chipping it with a tool.

The Business Name + Phone Number decal is $24.99 per decal and covers that when the logo is more than the truck needs. If a heavier truck might need a USDOT number, whether it does depends on weight and use, and the who needs a USDOT number guide explains the tests. The Custom USDOT Logo is $26 per decal for name, city, USDOT and MC together. Costs add up across a fleet, so see our truck lettering cost guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can you put decals on a concrete mixer drum?

It depends on the drum. A curved, ribbed surface can keep a flat decal from sticking evenly, and drums are rinsed constantly. We make rectangular decals in 12, 18 and 24 inch widths, not drum-wide graphics. The cab door is the surest place for a decal, and you can test a small spot on the drum before committing.

What should a concrete mixer logo include?

The company name in heavy, readable capitals, and one simple symbol if you want one. Skip thin lines and tiny type, since the truck is read from a distance, often in motion or through dust. A trade word such as Concrete or Ready-Mix helps strangers, and the phone number belongs on the door.

What about a concrete pump truck logo?

The same rules apply. Put the logo on the flat cab door or a flat panel, with strong contrast against the paint. Preview the decal on your own truck color in the door builder, since a pump truck and a mixer in different colors may need different pairings.

Does cement dust hurt a decal?

Dust sitting on a decal mostly makes it harder to read. Wash it off gently with soap and water, and avoid abrasive cleaners and hard scrubbing, which our refunds page lists as outside the guarantee. For dried splatter, soften it with water and lift it off with a soft cloth.

How much does a pair of logo decals cost?

The logo is $120 per door, so a pair is $240, or $260 with the contour cut. Shipping is a flat $5.99 per order, and orders from $99 up ship free. A proof is sent for approval before printing. Plain name and phone decals are $24.99 each.
