Single Regulation Number (CA / KYU / TXDOT / GVW / VIN)

Type the label and the number as one line. The form's own examples are CA 512345, KYU 123456, TXDOT 1234567 and GVW 26000. A VIN goes in as VIN followed by its 17 characters, and a unit number can be UNIT 07 or whatever scheme you use. The form limits the line to 24 characters, which is enough for the VIN label plus all 17 characters.

No. The federal marking rule asks for the carrier's name and USDOT number on both sides of the vehicle, and an extra number such as CA or GVW is additional information. The rule allows other identifying information if it is not inconsistent with the required marking. Keep your name and USDOT lettering on the door and add this decal beside it.
